Museum collections are alive. Like the culture around them, they grow and change, responding to new ideas and new circumstances. The culture engine never stops.  Likewise the collecting museum feels a responsibility to reflect the changing world around it through collecting and exhibiting works of art. The Art of Collecting: New Acquisitions 2011-2016, from the LUAG Teaching Museum Collection is an opportunity to celebrate the newest additions to our university collection. Artwork by artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Warhol, and many more are featured. We invite the community to explore the new acquisitions within the collection. Museum collections grow physically through the acquisition of new objects. Here at LUAG this happens thanks to the generosity of alumni, family, and friends as we see in this exhibition which highlights the growth of the LUAG Teaching Museum collection over the last five years.

The exhibition The Art of Collecting: New Acquisitions 2011-2016, from the LUAG Teaching Museum Collection is presented throughout four campus galleries (LUAG Main Gallery, Dubois Gallery, Siegel Gallery, and The Gallery at Rauch Business Center), and continues until May 26, 2017.

Free and open to the public.
