The ganglioside-mimicry lipopolysaccharides of Campylobacter jejuni (C. jejuni) are the major cause of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and Miller-Fisher syndrome (MFS). However, the molecular-level understanding on how C. jejuni elicits GBS and MFS is elusive. This research aimed to develop tools to build glycolipid- and/or LPS-containing membrane systems, and characterize structural and dynamic properties of gangliosides in axolemma as well as ganglioside-mimicry LPS in C. jejuni outer membranes (OMs) using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation technique.
