Thanks to the generous gift of an anonymous alumnus, the Lehigh University Philosophy Department is pleased to announce its Fifth Annual Philosophy Conference. This year there will be a feast of philosophical presentations by philosophers from around the United States, as well as from England, Germany, Lebanon, Romania, and Canada.
The philosophical essays to be presented will include discussions of Sor Juana, Cavendish, Du Chatelet, Wolstonecraft, Conway, Cockburn, Jacqueline Pascal, Mary Astell, Susanna Newcome, Mary Shepherd, Margueritte de Navarre, and others. Amongst other topics, there will be discussions of virtue, motion, fire, substance, perception, knowledge, matter, dignity, mind-brain, happiness, parthood, and friendship. These presentations represent an enormous area of philosophical research that should be exciting to those intrigued by any aspect of philosophical inquiry or its history.
Lehigh students, faculty, and the general public are welcome to attend.
Location: Linderman Library, Rooms 200 and 342
Individual session times are posted on the Philosophy website.
