The LUPD would like to remind students, staff and faculty that we are once again offering self-defense instruction through the Rape Aggression Defense, or RAD program.

The RAD System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive course prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing to the basics of hands-on defense training.

The RAD course is offered free of charge. The basic physical defense class is 12 hours, divided up into four days, three hours each day. The classes are taught by the LUPD's certified RAD instructors.

Below is the class schedule:
1.) February 6, 8, 13 and 15 (WOMEN ONLY)
Classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m.

2.) March 20, 22, 27, 29 (WOMEN ONLY)
Classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m.

Please note that all classes will be held at the new LUPD station located at 321 E. Packer Ave.
